The pair meet in The First Question, written by Lisa McMullin and Beth Axford. The story begins in Hong Kong, 1990, where the Doctor meets businesswoman Eleanor for the first time. It’s an initially spiky encounter, but after the duo face down a shocking danger together, Eleanor decides to board the TARDIS.

Lisa says: “This is just after The Wedding of River Song. The Doctor should be on his honeymoon! But as far as he’s concerned, everyone (except his wife) thinks he’s dead – and he’d like to keep it that way. But the Doctor isn’t exactly great at lying low!”
