The 1985 Sixth Doctor serial Vengeance on Varos has been released as a BBC Audio talking book. Philip Martin’s novelisation is read by Martin Jarvis, who played the Governor in the TV version.

The TARDIS has stalled mid-flight and only on Varos can the Doctor find the Zeiton-7 ore he needs to continue his travels. Arriving on the planet, he saves the rebel Jondar from execution and incurs the wrath of Sil, a sadistic representative of the Galatron Mining Corporation.

As the Doctor is pursued through the corridors of the deadly Punishment Dome, he discovers that the people of Varos have some very disturbing ideas of entertainment…

Vengeance on Varos is available now from BBC Audio priced £20 on CD. We’ve got FIVE copies of the CD to give away – plus, for ONE lucky reader, a print of Alister Pearson’s cover artwork autographed by Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Philip Martin and Nabil Shaban.
