Geoffrey Beevers reads Terrance Dicks’ novelisation of Robert Holmes’ 1978-79 story The Power of Kroll, an adventure featuring the Fourth Doctor and Romana.

The huge, squid-like Kroll lives deep in the swamps of the third moon of Delta Magna. To the native Swampies, Kroll is an angry mythical god. Unbeknown to the human crew of the methane refinery, Kroll is the source of a huge and pro table amount of gas.

When the Doctor and Romana arrive, searching for a segment of the Key to Time, they encounter hostility from both the Swampies and the refinery crew and, finally, must face the power of Kroll itself…
